Primary Duties:

  • This position will be responsible for directing and administering processing and inventory control and all functions relating planning, processing, packaging, packing and control of the products to meet customer requirements.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in slaughtering, dressing, packaging and packing poultry.
  • Train new workers in slaughtering, dressing, packaging and packing duties.
  • Observe and evaluate performance of workers to ensure conformance to processing standards.
  • May substitute for line workers to meet production needs.
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels
  • Establish procedures and supervising physical inventory; ensuring proper control planning and scheduling programs
  • Assure conformity to quality standards
  • Solve problems resulting from material shortages
  • Motivate subordinates to optimize their performance
  • Reports to the Kill Plant Manager.
  • Performs other functions, as needed.

Educational Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to speak, see, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and stand.
  • Ability to lift and stack materials in crates, up to 60-70 pounds.

  • Handles daily workers minor employee relations and performance issues within the guidelines of company policy.
  • Recommends improvements to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Communicates with plant management and supervision on needs and priorities.

Educational Qualifications:

  • One to two years of experience as a production worker, preferably in a poultry processing plant and one to two years as a production supervisor.

Plant Electrician for Poultry Facility

Primary Duties:

  • Assembling, installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronic components and systems.
  • Run rigid conduit, pull wire, and terminate at equipment locations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair motor control systems.
  • Ensuring all power and manual tools are operated in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose 3 phase 480 vac motor issues.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace plant lighting and emergency lighting.
  • Work with plant voltages up to 480 vac.
  • Ensures and maintains the safe and proper operation of plant equipment and machinery.
  • Takes corrective action, as necessary, to ensure machinery operates safely, efficiently, and economically, as possible.
  • Makes adjustments and repairs to equipment to maintain production and ensure service life of said equipment.
  • Helps to keep work area clean on a routine basis.
  • Reports any and all maintenance issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Performs other functions as directed by the Maintenance Manager, as needed.

Educational Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Mechanical Trade School, desirable.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, plumbing.

The QC Manager is responsible all activities of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance department in a manner which ensures consistent product safety and quality. This position is also responsible for maintaining working relationships with customers (internal and external) and FSIS Inspection. Additional responsibilities include and are not limited to:

Primary Duties:

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining quality and hygiene programs for plant products, which ensures compliance with company, state, and federal standards.
  • Develop, document, implement, verify, and validate Food Safety and QA processes and

procedures used to monitor incoming raw materials, production, and products (Finished
and Work in Process) to ensure compliance to all regulatory, customer, and company
requirements.

  • Build and maintain a strong team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, and team building. Provide feedback to direct reports on a constant basis (i.e., Appraisals, Coaching, etc.) that will lead to their continued development.
  • Provide products and services to customers (internal and external), which meet or exceed expectations.
  • Drive plant improvement by providing proactive solutions to issues that will support facility operations staff in achieving Quality and Safety goals.
  • Maintain contact between Sales and Operations in order to communicate customer/consumer issues and resolutions.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and relevant data and analysis to enable them to effectively manage the business.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with USDA/IFSIS. Monitor industry and regulatory news to identify new trends that could be utilized for continuous improvement within the facility and company.
  • Communicates with plant management and supervision on deficiencies and priorities.
  • Helps train new employees.
  • Helps to keep work area clean on a routine basis.
  • Reports production or safety issues to the General Manager.
  • Performs other functions as directed by the General Manager or Food Safety and Quality Assurance Director, as needed.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal science, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in food processing
  • Knowledge of poultry/foods processing principles; understanding of management principles, and team concepts. General knowledge of plant functions: production, maintenance, warehouse, shipping, receiving, and sanitation.
